Mary Williamson and her dog Holly please the crowd with their overly cute matching outfits. But their outfits aren't just for fun or for fashion sense - there is much deeper cause behind their gorgeously matching attire.

“There is definitely a misconception that all rescue animals are in some way ugly or damaged or mean,” said Williamson, according to This Dogs Life. “So Holly and I set out to use our stylish ensembles to prove to the world that you don’t have to be purebred to be ‘paw-sitively’ fabulous. If I can make even a few people rethink buying a trendy purebred pup and instead consider visiting their local shelter, I’ve done something that’s made an impact.”

Williamson was searching for a happy go lucky pooch when the Humane Society of New York (HSNY) brought her Holly in November 2012. The puppy was named Holly based on the suggested of her father who noted that the dog reminds him of Holly Golightly, the character of Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

According to Williams, Holly hates her outfits when they are inside the apartment but once she sets foot on the pavement outside, she walks with pride and would pose with anyone who has a camera.

Mary and Holly have been participating in fundraising events for rescue dogs and to raise funds for different foundations. She also supported Katherine Heigl whom she met in an event, to raise money for the Jason Heigl Foundation that aims to "end animal cruelty by increasing awareness, supporting other nonprofits and find solutions for the pet overpopulation, among other goals".

“Holly and I both have larger than life personalities and we love when people tell us how cute we look,” Williamson said. “The fact that we can use that platform to support a cause that is important to us is the icing on the paw-sitively fabulous cake.”
