Salisbury Shooting Leaves Two Dead, One Critically Injured: Police Say Domestic Dispute Between Former Lovers Turned Deadly (VIDEO)

Two people died and one student suffered critical injuries after a shooter opened fire just off the Salisbury University campus in Maryland, Tuesday evening.

ABC News reported the shooter was 21-year-old Ryan Shallue, who pulled a gun on his ex-girlfriend and a friend, then killed himself.

Shallue and 19-year-old Charles Abbott were found dead on the 100 block of Onley Road, located east of the university's campus.

Shallue's ex-girlfriend, 20-year-old Kristen Loetz, attended Salisbury University with Abbott.

According to the Salisbury Police who spoke with the Baltimore Sun, by around 8 p.m. authorities told students that they believed "no continuing threat exists to the campus community."

Investigators were in the midst looking into the case, determining the identities of the dead, and alerting their families Tuesday night.

President of the University Janet Dudley-Eshbach released a statement late Tuesday, following the devastating attack.

In it, she said that Shallue was not a student, and that Loetz was rushed by air to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. She also stated that police considered the shooting a murder-suicide. Police called the event "domestic related."

"This terrible news is shocking, and I remind our students that they are not alone in their feelings," Dudley-Eshbach said in the statement posted on the school's website. "We extend our compassion and prayers to the victims' and student's families and friends."
