Midshipman Testifies Against 3 U.S. Naval Academy Alleged Attackers; Can't Recall Details of Sexual Assault

The sexual assault court case against three U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen continues with testimony from their alleged victim.

A fellow female midshipman accused football players Tra'ves Bush, Eric Graham and Joshua Tate of sexual assault on April 14, 2012, after she passed out from drinking too much at a party. She testified against her alleged attackers for the first time on Wednesday.

According to NBC News, the victim gave her testimony during a preliminary hearing. She remembered waking up with back pain and foggy memories of the incident:

"I noticed I was really disheveled," she testified. "I was really nerve-wracked because I didn't know what had happened."

Later that day, Tate, who had invited her to the party, told her that she had sex with him and Graham, she testified.

"He was like, 'What? You don't remember?'" she said. "He told me that we had sex and he was going to have to refresh my memory."

"He was laughing," she added, "and then I was like, 'I don't want to hear anymore.'"

The female midshipman was a sophomore at the Academy when the alleged sexual occurred, adding she was 20-years-old during the time of the attack and was drinking while underage.

The party was at an off-campus residence called the "Football House." In the alleged victim's testimony, she recalled "snippets" of events, according to NBC News. She also remembered being in a bedroom alone with Bush, whom she had reportedly ended a causal sexual relationship, but didn't remember if they had relations in the room that night.

The alleged victim testified she was in a car with the three midshipman accused later that night, but couldn't remember the actual assault. However, the following day she confronted her alleged attackers about the events of the previous night.

"When Tate arrived, she asked if they had had sex. 'What, you don't remember?' she says he asked, with what she described as a 'suggestive' look on his face. 'I'm going to have to refresh your memory, then,' he added," NBC reports.

The female midshipman refused to listen to more details, but checked social media to see if the guys had posted something about the night.

Tate reportedly tweeted: "The train tickets were on the low," suggesting a woman had multiple sexual partners in a night. Rumors began to spread about the night in question, which led to the alleged victim to "break down" and report the assault.

The sexual assault case against the midshipmen is one of the highest-profile military cases. Read more about the alleged victim's testimony, here.
