In season six, episode two of MTV's "Teen Mom 2," Javi Marroquin and Kailyn Lowry try to patch up the problems in their relationship with kisses, Chelsea Houska forms an alliance with Adam Lind's ex to fight him in court, Leah Calvert gets the results from her drug test and Jenelle Evans gets the proposal she's been waiting for.
Marroquin and Lowry's fight from episode one rolls over in the opening scenes of episode two. Lowry prepares for a rare girls' night out at a Sam Smith concert in Philadelphia, and Marroquin agreed to watched the couple's son Lincoln. However, an innocent text message from Lowry's male classmate sends Marroquin over the edge with jealously and insecurity. He cools down long enough to give Lowry permission to go on her girls' trip but crashes it later that night. Marroquin shows up in Philadelphia, delivers a somewhat sincere apology, then the couple kisses and makes up - for the time being.
Calvert is still unhappy with the custody battle her ex Cory Simms is dragging her through, but she's standing her ground. Hurt by accusations that she's an unfit mother, she agrees to take a five-point hair follicle drug test and allows for chunks of her hair to be removed so that she could be checked for amphetamines (methamphetamines), marijuana, cocaine, opiates and phencyclidine. Calvert's lawyer delivers the good news that she tested negative for all five drugs and reassures her. "You're a good mother," she told Calvert.
Houska looks happy in new relationship with boyfriend Cole DeBoer, and his willingness to be a part of her daughter Aubrey's life is charming, as he attends Aubrey's Christmas concert. Houska's ex and Aubrey's father Lind shows up to see Aubrey perform at the concert, where he meets DeBoer for the first time. The introduction is brief but cordial. Houska later meets with Lind's ex-girlfriend Taylor Halbur, who also shares a daughter with Lind, Aubrey's half-sister Paisley. The two women meet with a lawyer to fight Lind on his request for 50/50 custody of their daughters.
However, it's Evans who experiences heartbreak and joy within the span of the episode. Her mother Barbara, the legal guardian of Evans' son Jace, keeps forwarding Evans' calls to voicemail. Evans breaks down in sobs as she attempts to make plans to see her son before she leaves on a St. Thomas vacation that her boyfriend Nathan Griffith booked as her birthday gift, but Barbara won't allow it. Once in St. Thomas, Griffith surprises Evans as he gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him.
"Oh my god! Oh my god!" Jenelle exclaims, standing up from her seat and holding out her left hand. "Yes I will, yes I will. I didn't think you were ever gonna do it."
