Television anchor Clayton Morris tweeted that his sources say that the upcoming iPhone 5S will be 31 percent faster than its predecessor following as it comes equipped with an A7 chip.
Morris's tweet on Sunday:
Sources are telling me the new iPhone's A7 chip is running at about 31% faster than A6. I'm hearing it's very fast.— Clayton Morris (@ClaytonMorris)
Introduced in September 2012, the A6 chip first found its home to the iPhone 5 which was said to be two times faster than the iPhone 4. Rumors as reported by 9to5 Mac said that the iPhone 5S will still be on dual core like the iPhone 5 but will have a better internal with a 64-bit processor.
9to5 Mac sources also confirmed that Apple is pairing the A7 chip with a 64-bit processor to make the device more versatile in making animations, transparencies, and other graphical effects that the iOS 7 already has. This sounds like an improvement, though we are not sure if there will be anything major, but sources said that it will make the results much smoother than other iOS devices.
Analyst Ming-Kuo previously mentioned that the iPad maker is preparing to transition to using 64-bit processors and will use the iPhone 5S as a testing equipment. If the transition does not happen on A7, it will most likely occur in 2014 with A8.
Morris also tweeted that a camera upgrade will be observed on the iPhone 5S. The upgrade will include motion tracking and slow motion mode.
To wrap up things before Apple holds its September event which will confirm and invalidate all rumors, fans are expecting plastic cases, fingerprint sensors, gold cases, A7 chips and now the 64-bit processor.
If the latest rumor is true with iPhone 5S becoming faster than iPhone 5, the improvement will make Apple regain competition with HTC, LG, and Samsung.
