"The View" has added another new co-host to replace the departing Rosie Perez. Comedian Michelle Collins will soon join the ABC chat fest, according to Variety.

Collins started serving as a guest host earlier this spring, and "The View" will announce her permanent hiring at a future date. She has also appeared on Bravo and VH1 shows and contributes to Vanity Fair and Elle magazines, according to her Twitter.

Perez confirmed her exit during Wednesday's program but will remain on the show through the season 18 finale in August. She plans to focus on her acting career.

"I've decided that it's time to move on. And I will say that today is very bittersweet for me," the Oscar-nominated actress said.

Perez joined the show just this season along with political analyst Nicolle Wallace and Rosie O'Donnell, who returned to the program after co-hosting in season 10. They joined Whoopi Goldberg who slid into the moderator position after Barbara Walters retired last season.

O'Donnell left the show again earlier this season due to personal issues. "The View" recently replaced her with Raven-Symoné.
