Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden plans on returning to his state with father Vice President Joe Biden after a successful visit at a cancer center in Texas, TIME reported.
According to the vice president's office, Beau will fly home aboard Air Force Two on Thursday with his father, who will return to Wilmington.
The 44-year-old Beau had a procedure performed on Tuesday at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, just two weeks after emergency personnel were called to Vice President Biden's Delaware home, where his son was staying at the time. Dispatchers arrived at the home after reports of a possible stroke.
Last week, Beau was hospitalized in Indiana while on a family vacation after feeling weak and disoriented. Following the incident, he was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and traveled to a Philadelphia hospital the following day to speak with a doctor that treated him for a minor stroke in 2010.
Vice President Biden and his wife, Jill, provided a statement on their son's health that was released by the White House.
"He is in great shape and is going to be discharged tomorrow and heading home to Delaware," they said on Wednesday. "He will follow up with his local physicians in the coming weeks."
Other than saying the procedure was "successful," the Bidens did not provide any more information. The White House also did not answer any questions about Beau's procedure.
The Delaware Department of Justice said Beau spoke with his chief deputy and the state prosecutor on Wednesday about several issues in Wilmington and planned to reconvene talks on Thursday when he returned.
Jason Miller, a spokesperson for Delaware's Department of Justice, did not disclose any further information. Medical personnel that were called to the Biden home two weeks ago did not provide details on who was being treated.
