It looks like Miley Cyrus has put her foot in her mouth once again!

During her recent trip to Germany, Cyrus was interviewed and filmed asking, "Are there any good German tr*nnies? Like, guys as girls?" Later on, she asked another interviewer if he knew of any "weird" spots to go to, stating she wants to go to a "weird ass club."

The slang "tr*nny" is a pejorative used to describe people who are transgender, transsexual, transvestites or cross-dressers, and many transgender activists consider it a slur and advise against people using it. However, others such as the famous drag queen RuPaul have defended the term, creating a bit of controversy surrounding who, if anyone, gets to use it.

The "We Can't Stop" singer's new image has made her notorious lately, for better or for worse, though it's perhaps her statements on various maringalized people that have created the most uproar. The star has been quoted saying things like "I want something that feels black" in reference to her new music, "My gays are my favorite fans," and "I only know One Direction because of my gays," suggesting in her word choice that her gay fans "belong" to her, which many in the LGBT community find offensive and belitting. Fans and critics have written blog posts, created Youtube videos and tweeted their disapproval of her choice of language in describing minority groups.

Cyrus has also been criticized by a University of Ohio professor of African-American studies, who said the star could "could stand to take a few African American-studies courses" for her use of black people as "props" in her new music video.

Nonetheless, Cyrus has also become a smash success on the charts, breaking Justin Bieber's Vevo record for the most video views, her latest single off her forthcoming album, her first after leaving Disney's Hollywood Records. The "We Can't Stop" video, which has been called "completely insane," has helped Cyrus maintain her #2 spot on Billboard's Hot 100, where it initially peaked and has remained in relatively the same spot for seven weeks.

While it's clear that her breakaway from her Disney and Hanna Montana image has been purposeful, is Cyrus taking things a step too far, or is it all in good fun?
