A Samsung official verified that the recent reports of exploding Galaxy Note 7 while charging have been investigated to be caused by the battery.
Samsung's newest flagship phone has just been released in the market two weeks ago. People were particularly excited with new iris scanner which permits unlocking of the phone through sensing patterns in the eyes.
Unfortunately, there were already many complaints of the phone exploding while charging. Though, luckily, there have been no reports of injury during the explosions, as reported by Yonhap News Agency. .
Samsusng Galaxy Note 7 owners have been posting photos of the burnt phablet on the internet causing a lot of concern from potential buyers. But earlier reports say that the explosions were due to the use of third-party USB Type-C converter or unauthorized chargers.
It was confirmed however by the anonymous official that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery was really to be blamed. For the safety and continued patronage of its faithful customers, Samsung will issue a recall of the Galaxy Note 7.
The announcement of the recall along with the details of the company's investigation regarding the root cause of the battery problem is expected this weekend or early next week. The tech giant will still have to coordinate with Verizon and other partners in the business this Friday.
The company also already discontinued scheduled shipments of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to operators in South Korea to conduct additional quality tests. Its launch in the Europe, particularly in Britain and France, as well as United States have also already been pushed.
The shipments delays and imminent recall can hurt Samsung's revenue real bad. Thi is especially now that Apple is scheduled to launch its newest iPhone 7 on September 7. As early as now, people have reconsidered buying the new iPhone 7 over the bad quality reports of the Galaxy Note 7.
