South Africa will take on Sri Lanka in a Super10 Group 2 match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup 2016 Sunday at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

South Africa and Sri Lanka have already been eliminated from the World T20. Both teams are now looking to end their World Twenty20 campaign on a winning note when they face each other in their last group stage encounter at Delhi's Kotla.

England beat Sri Lanka by 10 runs on Saturday. Riding on Jos Buttler's unbeaten 37-ball 66-run knock, England posted 171 for four in 20 overs. Sri Lanka, in reply, managed 161 for eight in 20 overs. Skipper Angelo Mathews' unbeaten 73-run knock went into vain as Sri Lanka lost by 10 runs. The narrow defeat ended Sri Lanka's chance to seal a spot in the semi-finals from Group 2. England, on the other hand, was qualified.

"I think it has been a disappointing few months for Sri Lankan cricket. We have let down the fans, let down the whole country. We haven't played good cricket at all," Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews said after Saturday's loss. "All we can do is stick to a combination, not try and change the team too much. We should try and pick about 20 players and re-evaluate them, say after 6 months. Give them opportunity to settle down and then try and see what they have come up with, in terms of performances. Then we can take a call as quick decisions won't solve this matter. We need to be patient."

South Africa, on the other hand, won only one of three group stage encounters. The West Indies ended their semi-final hopes on Friday when they thrashed Proteas by three wickets in a closely contested game. The Darren Sammy-led West Indies first restricted them to 122 for eight in 20 overs and then chased down the target in the final over.
