“Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” was released three months ago, and many fans were heartbroken over the scene at the climax of the film when Han Solo meet his fate and was killed by his son, Kylo Ren. Harrison Ford, the actor who played Han Solo, stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to discuss the film, the character that made him famous and the recently announced fifth “Indiana Jones” film.

Ford was promoting the film’s digital release when he stopped by the late night show on Monday where he called the death of the beloved character “shocking.”

“You work for 25 years for the company. You do your best. You show up everyday. You do your job. And then they just let you go,” Ford said. The actor told Kimmel that he had been trying to convince the people in charge of the film for 30 years to kill off Han Solo before he finally “wore them down.”

Kimmel then asked Ford if that meant there was no way the character would be in any of the future “Star Wars” films.

"Who said that?" Ford teased. "Who made you the boss?"

“Do you know if the character Han Solo will continue, or do you not know?" Kimmel asked again.

"That's a good question, right?" Ford replied.

"Interesting," Kimmel said. "I have no idea what to make of your answer."

Ford then changed the subject to how incredible it was that Han Solo’s death remained a secret until the film was released and told Kimmel it was “pretty amazing that people respected their fellow audience members to the extent that it didn’t get around.”

“I think they knew I would show up at their house and beat the sh-- out of them,” Ford said of anyone who attempted to spoil the movie.

Ford and Kimmel then discussed another one of Ford’s famous characters, Indiana Jones. Disney recently announced that there will be a fifth “Indiana Jones” film with Steven Spielberg back as director.

"The opportunity to work with Steven] again on this character,” Ford said. “A chance to revisit this character, which has brought pleasure to so many, not to mention me - it's fun. It's great fun to play this character, it's great fun to work with Steven. I'm looking forward to it."
