Harrison Ford made a lot of money off of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," much more than the film's stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. The original "Star Wars" actor even made more than Carrie Fisher, who is also an alum from the original trilogy.

Ford's pay could add up to $34 million for reprising his role as Han Solo, according to Fortune. The salary includes a $25 million upfront fee for the film and a slim share of the film's gross earnings, which could reach up to $9 million if the film hits $2 billion at the box office. Ford's pay is 56 times more than what Ridley and Boyega made for the film, which includes a flat fee of $450,000. The two newcomers could also receive a cut of the film once it grosses $1 billion worldwide, according to the Guardian. Ford also made 17 times the $1.5 million sum Fisher was paid for returning to the role that made her famous.

"Harrison is the key to making this movie work. He's the link between the old generation and the new," a Disney source told the Daily Mail. "Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were good to get, but the film could have lived without them. You couldn't make it without Harrison Ford."

Ford also received an extra $1.5 million from Disney after he broke his leg while filming the movie. Ford originally made a reported $10,000 for his role as Solo in 1977's "Star Wars," which turned out to be the highest-grossing film of all time when it debuted.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" shattered a number of box office records when it opened this past weekend. The film brought in $238 million in North America and $517 million globally.
