Harrison Ford has slammed Donald Trump for praising his 1997 action film "Air Force One" and had not-so-kind words to say to the Republican presidential candidate.

Trump said he loves Ford's action film because he "stood for America." However, the "Star Wars" actor reminded the actor that his character didn't exactly save America from the terrorists.

"It's a movie, Donald. It was a movie," Ford said, according to TheWrap. "It's not like this in real life. But how would you know?"

The actor made an appearance on Australian morning talk show "Studio 10" on Wednesday, and the hosts asked him what he thought about Trump's comments.

Ford had also quipped that he thought Trump was running for "resident," not "president." "So he's not only going to live there, he's going to run the show? Not so much - I don't think so," he said, according to Us Weekly.

Trump said in an interview with The New York Times last week that his favorite movie was "Air Force One."

"My favorite was Harrison Ford on the plane. I love Harrison Ford - and not just because he rents my properties. He stood up for America," he said.

In the film, Ford played fictional U.S. President James Marshall, whose presidential jet gets hijacked by terrorists.
