The "Gilmore Girls" revival will introduce at least one new character when the show returns on Netflix later this year, and she is a familiar face in the Amy Sherman-Palladino universe. Sutton Foster will join the cast for at least two of the four planned episodes and reunite with Sherman-Palladino, who created her former ABC Family show, "Bunheads."

The "Gilmore Girls" casting was nearly a dream come true for Foster, who calls herself a "super nerd" fan. She even had a mini-breakdown after filming her scene with Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai Gilmore.

"It was just surreal," the 41-year-old actress said about filming with Graham, who she greatly admires. "I was really nervous. And then when it was over and we got it, I just sort of burst into tears."

She continued, "There's so much anticipation and so much admiration and I'm still like that little kid... I'm still 15 in my head. I'm still the super fan who just wants to do this for a living and to be included and have that type of experience."

Graham later recipricoated her thoughts on Twitter.

Other than Lorelai, Foster's character will interact with a number of the town's people in Stars Hollow. The "Younger" star worked with Sally Struthers (Babette), Liz Torres (Ms. Patty), Sophia (Carole King) and Michael Winters (Taylor Doose) as well as a "few suprises" she couldn't reveal yet.

"It was awesome. I walked away from the entire experience like, 'I wouldn't have changed a thing,'" Foster said.

Foster will appear in the second and fourth episodes, which will take place during spring and fall. Each 90-minute episode will take place during a calendar season starting with winter then spring, summer and fall, which follow the lyrics from Carole King's song, "You've Got a Friend."

Nearly the entire "Gilmore Girls" cast is returning for the revival except for Melissa McCarthy, who will not reprise her role as Sookie St. James. Miscommunication and scheduling conflicts kept her from the production, which is currently underway at Warner Bros. Studios. Although she couldn't participate, McCarthy said she was "thrilled" for the revival and would be watching when the show premieres.

"Gilmore Girls: Seasons" will premiere later this year on Netflix.
