The Gilmore women will be in mourning when "Gilmore Girls" returns in the Netflix revival. The series will pickup about four months after the death of Richard Gilmore and any thoughts of his wife Emily entering into a new relationship will take some time.

The widowed Emily (Kelly Bishop) will not entertain the thought of another man in her life through the first three of four 90-minute episodes ("Winter," "Spring" and "Summer") planned for the "Gilmore Girls" revival," according to TVLine. Bishop couldn't speculate on finding someone in the final episode ("Fall") since she hadn't read it yet (as of Feb. 1).

"So by the time you get to [Episode 4 aka 'Fall'] a whole year will have passed. And I know from my experience, that the first year [after losing a loved one] is awful. But when you hit that first year you start to emerge from it," Bishop told TVLine.

The "Gilmore" family lost Edward Herrmann, who played Richard, in December 2014. His loss on screen will leave Bishop's character "a little manic" in his absence.

"She's kind of a raw nerve. In a desperate attempt to push through [her grief], she blows between right on the edge of losing it to almost being a little manic," Bishop told TVLine.

Early reports of the revival teased a new love interest for one of the four principal characters - Lorelai (Lauren Graham), Luke (Scott Patterson), Rory (Alexis Bledel) or Emily. The obvious choices would be either Emily or Rory, who was last seen dumping her boyfriend Logan (Matt Czuchry). The original series finale reunited the formerly engaged couple Luke and Lorelai in its closing moments.

Netflix has not confirmed a premiere date for the "Gilmore Girls" revival except for later this year.
