West Indies Women's cricket team began their WT20 campaign on a winning note, as the Caribbean side defeated Pakistan by four runs at the same venue on Wednesday. The Sana Mir-side failed to chase down a modest target of 103 and was restricted to 99 for five in 20 overs. Skipper Stafanie Taylor (48 ) starred with the bat, while off-spinner Anisa Mohammed (three wickets) starred with ball for West Indies.

"We were stronger and faster than them. The Pakistanis love to run hard, so we knew we have to be on our toes right through the chase, and I think we did well in the end," skipper Stafanie Taylor said.

Bangladesh Women's cricket team, on the other hand, remained winless in the WT20, as the Jahanara Alam-led side lost their first two games of the tournament. They were first defeated by India and then by England. "It is not that we don't have the fire power. Our batswomen have strength and technique, but we are not able to utilize these traits. We need to utilize them and I hope as we gain experience, we could succeed," Alam said after losing their second Group B encounter against England on Thursday.
