In the wake of the tragic and untimely death of actor Paul Walker, several of his Fast and Furious co-stars have come out to express their sadness at his passing as well as share some fond memories of the 40-year-old actor. Among those who have publically mourned Walker's death are Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and now, Dwayne Johnson.

"Losing a loved one jolts our hearts to the core," the Fast and Furious co-star wrote in a post on his Instagram. "It also has a very special way of helping us move forward to live & love as greatly as possible. Hug out loved ones a little tighter. Pray a little stronger. Work a little harder. Smile a little bigger. Life goes on and memories are forever cherished."

The former pro-wrestler turned actor was filming Fast & Furious 7 with Walker when he died in a tragic car accident. The message was companied by a photo of the two friends posing with Walker's arm around Johnson.

While the Instagram is the most recent acknowledgement of Walker's death, Johnson has previously spoken with Entertainment Weekly about his friendship with the man who played the Fast and Furious character Brian O'Connor.

"When I first met Paul, I think in our late 20s, we were young kids in the business," he said. "Then years later, when I did Fast Five, we had an opportunity to spend a lot of time together and become reacquainted. At that time, we had both been in the business at that time for over a decade, and the most important thing that we had in common was the importance of family time and being a great father to our daughters. We bonded over that."

Walker's death occurred in the middle of filming for the next installment in the popular racing/heist movie franchise. As a result, production has been shut down indefinitely while Universal tries to figure out the most respectful way to move forward with the series in the wake of its lead actor's passing.
