Anyone who had the pleasure of watching USA Network's surprise hit "Mr. Robot" last year was likely left scratching their heads (in a good way) at all the surprising twists and turns the show had in store. As such, perhaps we should learn to expect the unexpected from this series. Now, after adding a few new cast members, "Mr. Robot" has continued to round out its second season ensemble with none other than comedic actor Craig Robinson.

Surprising, right?

The new season will feature Robinson in the recurring role of Ray, a neighborhood local who reaches out to Elliot (Rami Malek) as he deals with his considerable personal issues. We wouldn't normally associate a comedic performer such as Robinson with the dark and twisted world of "Mr. Robot," but creator and showrunner Sam Esmail has more than earned our trust at this point.

In addition to Robinson, season two will also feature Grace Gummer ("The Newsroom") as Dominique (Dom) DiPierro, a young and ambitious FBI field agent who is tasked with investigating the Evil Corp Hack. Newcomer Chris Conroy will play Derek, a potential love interest for Joanna Wellick. And, in another surprise, rapper Joey Bada$$ will play Leon, an old friend of Elliot's.

Beyond the new additions, returning cast members Michael Cristofer, who played Evil Corp CEO Phillip Price, and Stephanie Corneliussen, who played Tyrell Wellick's conniving wife Joanna, have joined the cast full time. Ben Rappaport and Tom Riis Farrell will also be seen again as Ollie and Bill, respectively.

In a rare move, Esmail will direct all 10 episodes of season two himself. He has previously teased several intriguing aspects for the new season while also hinting that certain arcs in the first season may not have been as real as the audience may have realized. Perhaps that is why he and the cast are prepping viewers for an even darker turn in season two.

For those that haven't seen "Mr. Robot" (which you should, right now), the series focuses on Elliot Anderson, a brilliant cyber engineer and vigilante hacker who suffers from severe mental problems. He is recruited by the mysterious anarchist known as "Mr. Robot" (Christian Slater) to join "fsociety" and bring down one of the world's largest conglomerates, E Corp.

"Mr. Robot" is expected to debut a second season sometime this summer.
