New Zealand registered a 70-run victory over the visitors in the first ODI, played at Wellington on Monday. Batting first, the Kiwi team posted a total of 280 on the scoreboard with the help of Henry Nicholls' 80-run knock, according to Sportal. Pakistan, in reply, was bundled out for 210. Thursday' second ODI at Napier was abandoned due to poor weather condition.

The dominant hosts are now eyeing a series win. "Pakistan are a very strong team, and showed glimpses of that at the Basin (last Monday) so we want to be on top of our game on Sunday," NZ bowling coach Dimitri Mascarenhas said, according to Otaga Daily Times.
