The Sydney Thunder booked its final spot after defeating the Adelaide Strikers in the first semi-final of the T20 league on Thursday. The Stars, on the other hand, reached the BBL final for the first time after registering a seven-wicket victory over the Perth Scorchers in the second semi-final played at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, according to ABC News.

The Thunder made some changes in their squad for the BBL decider. South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis has been included the final.

"I expect him to play. He was very keen to play the semi-final but we took the call on giving him a few extra days in the hope of that we got through to the final," skipper Mike Hussey said, according to Cricket.com.au. "He'll have his last fitness Test today but I'm pretty confident he'll play."
