You'd be naïve not to expect some gruesome scenes from a show titled "The Walking Dead," but the hit AMC series still manages to freak people out, including its own cast members. There was even one specific scene that made actress Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, consider leaving the show.

"The script where Maggie has to give the character Lori a C-section to save the baby that becomes baby Judith," she said while on "Inside The Actor's Studio." "...I go two doors down and I knock on Steven (Yeun)'s door, and I said, 'I have to leave the show. I don't think I can do it.' It affects you so deeply to the core to touch on, to dive into some of this material. And then I realized that's why I have to do it."

The scene Cohan is talking about came in the season three episode "Killer Within," which saw a pregnant Lori go into labor while the prison was under siege. Maggie was forced to deliver the baby and Lori unfortunately did not survive, leading to Carl shooting her in the head to prevent her coming back as a walker. That all definitely qualifies as darky and gruesome, so it's understandable why Cohan was so shaken by the scene.

Cohen, along with several other cast members as well as showrunner Scott Gimple and creator Robert Kirkman will all be appearing on the bravo series "Inside the Actor's Studio." Cohan described the show as an emotional experience and sited that scene in particular.

In the comics, Maggie becomes an even more important character later on which may finally take place on-screen this season. If so, Cohan can expect even more emotional scenes in her immediate future.

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC on Feb. 14. Cohan's "Inside The Actor's Studio" segment will air on Feb. 11.
