Fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead" have been fiending for their zombie fix during the show's midseason hiatus. Fortunately, series creator Robert Kirkman feels your pain and has been dropping little nuggets of information about the second half of season six. Recently, Kirkman spoke with Entertainment Weekly about a long awaited fan-favorite from the comics. No, not Negan (who we can expect to be introduced in the season finale); Kirkman opened up about Jesus and how he relates to the main cast.

"They've been surviving for a reason, whether they were at a place like Alexandria that's very safe, or they're a great leader of their group and somewhat sadistic but in control of their group like Negan, or someone who's an absolute complete badass like Jesus. He's smart, quick, very athletic. He's kinda been surviving on his feet. He's going to be bringing a lot to the show. There's some cool stuff coming with him."

Jesus will likely debut much earlier than Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan. British actor Tom Payne was cast in the role last year and began filming in September. In fact, during Glenn-gate, the two were seen filming a scene together which spoiled the (obvious) fate of Steven Yeun's character at the time.

In the comics, Jesus quickly becomes an ally to Rick Grimes and Co. Given the overwhelming enemies Alexandria is facing right now, it will be nice to see another friendly face for once. Jesus may help them fend of the walker horde, Negan, The Saviors and The Wolves.

More than that, Jesus will bring even more of a cool factor to "The Walking Dead." In the source material, Jesus is one of the most dangerous fighters of the group. He excels in hand-to-hand combat and should definitely kick some ass this season.

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC on Feb. 14.
