Marvel recently announced a partnership with Netflix for four new TV shows based on Marvel super heroes that will lead up to the Defenders miniseries. Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist are all getting their own moments in the spotlight in the near future and the group will join together as the Defenders from the comics, but who will be writing, starring and directing each show?

Now, part of this question has been answered as the most high-profile hero in the roster gets a high profile writer. Drew Goddard, who's past projects have included Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias and Lost. The savvy TV consumer will know that this means Goddard has worked with the likes of both J.J. Abrams and the current king of the Marvel universe, Joss Whedon.

He has worked closely with both directors and even made his directorial debut with the massive cult hit "Cabin in the Woords." He co-wrote that film along with much of the rewrites for World War Z.

According to The Wrap, Goddard is a self proclaimed Daredevil fan.

"You're talking to a guy who had quotes from Daredevil painted on his wall while growing up. Even when I was 18, I still had the blood red door with the 'I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear.' That was what I loved and so it's the sort of thing that if I can find the right project, I would love to do it," he said.

So far neither Marvel nor Netflix has responded to the Wrap's request for comment. However, the site is reporting that it has sources close to the matter telling it that the news from the project is in fact true.
