At this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, Joss Whedon and the rest of the Avengers panel unveiled the villain for the upcoming sequel to the popular cross-over hit would be Ultron. In fact, the title of the film will be "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron."

Many were puzzled by the choice to put the super hero team up against the robotic evil doer, who will be played by James Spader, because they thought that the villain for the sequel was already set in stone. When the first film ended, an end-credits teaser showed the villain Thanos from the extended Marvel universe smiling at the idea of "courting death" by taking on Earth's mightiest heroes.

Marvel studios president Kevin Feige has recently come out to address the confusion saying that Thanos' appearance would be the first of many teasers that would liken him to an end boss in a video game.

"We never thought of it exactly like that, but I'd say that's... fair," said Feige, in response to the analogy posed by The Huffington Post. "It's also, you look at some classic story lines in the comics and they tease out characters like that -- big bads like that -- for sometimes years. I think Walter Simonson was teasing Surtur for years before he popped up. It's fun to have the luxury to build somebody up like that."

Feige has spoken out about a few other crossover events in the Marvel universe. One of the most popular storylines in the comic book universe is the Marvel Civil War. Feige recently admitted that we could see Spider-Man and X-Men characters with the Avengers on the big-screen, according to IGN. You can check out his response to the question of whether to not the relevant studios will ever get together to collaborate on a Civil War storyline HERE.

He says that he's currently pleased with the roster of characters in the Avengers but he didn't rule out the possibility of working with the other studios in the future. "Never say never," he said.
