With Thor: The Dark World on its way to theaters across the country, it will be the first test for Joss Whedon's new TV show "Marvel Agents of SHIELD" to keep up with the film universe to give viewers the idea that these two different mediums exist in the same universe.

While we may not see any of the main Avengers in the show any time soon, their actions will still have a direct impact on Coulson and his team. As EW has noted, the description for the November 19 episode of SHIELD will directly focus on and follow the events of "Thor: The Dark World."

"In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel's Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces-one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team," the episode description reads.

The episode is called "The Well," and is written by Monica Owusu-Breen (Lost, Fringe) and will be directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation star Jonathan Frakes, according to IGN. "The Well" will be airing less than two weeks after the November 8 release of the next installment of the Marvel cinematic universe "Thor: The Dark World" in the U.S.

It appears that ABC is banking on the fact that fans of Agents of SHEILD are the kind of die hard fans that have seen the film already by the time the new episode airs.

With the release of "The Well" the show will tie all of the Marvel universe movies into the story line. This means that the upcoming "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will also relate to the show in some way. This will be interesting as the film is already so heavy on SHIELD involvement in general.
