The stray cats and kittens of Istanbul know that they have a home wherever Mustafa Efe is. Efe is an Imam in Istanbul's Üsküdar district at the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque, and he has opened the doors of the mosque to all the neighborhood's many strays.

He first started letting in cats last winter, reports The Dodo, and since then, he's garnered significant attention online for his generous, animal-loving ways. He calls the cats "guests" of the mosque, and they've definitely made themselves at home, sitting in on prayers and relaxing on the carpets.

One cat in particular decided that she liked it so much in the mosque that right after giving birth, she'd raise her kittens safely inside, according to The Dodo. Watch below as the cat brings her young into their new home:

The video was posted by Efe himself on his Facebook page. The video was accompanied by a short message to his congregation. "To our mosque's Friday guests: A surprise awaits us at the sermon today. The kitty has found the heart of compassion and mercy," said Efe, according to Istanbul's Daily Safah.
