Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey were happily married for six years before they decided to separate, and Cannon can't really imagine himself walking down the aisle again.

"I feel like marriage isn't for everyone," Cannon, 35, told DuJour. "A friend of mine put it the funniest way. He said, 'If you heard there was a 50/50 chance of living or dying when you jump out of a plane, you probably wouldn't go skydiving.' There's like a 50/50 chance of a marriage working. If it didn't work out for you the first time, and you still survived, you probably shouldn't do it again."

When asked if he'd ever get married again, he said, "I highly doubt it."

He did make sure to explain that he has his reasons, though. "How do I say this the right way," he added. "Not to say that I was bogged down [in my marriage], because I wasn't by any means, but I like being able to make my own decisions and come and go as I please."

Cannon filed for divorce from Carey, with whom he shared 4-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, in January 2015 after they announced their split in August 2014, as HNGN previously reported. "There is trouble in paradise," Cannon said at the time. "We have been living in separate houses for a few months. My main focus is the kids."

While Cannon can't see himself getting married again, he does still believe in love. "I've rarely let people that close to me. A lot of it comes with me having trust issues," he continued to tell DuJour. "I've been that way since grade school. I don't trust many people. Who knows where I'll be when I'm 60. At 35, I'm not even looking to be in a relationship."

The two have remained friends since the split for the sake of the children and even still celebrate holidays together so their kids can have these memories as a family. Cannon posted a photo of the four on Christmas playing in the snow. "It's Christmas time!" he wrote. "#FestiveFamilyMoments."
