Craig Strickland, the singer of country rock band Backroad Anthem, has been found dead one week after he was reported missing, Us Weekly reported. The late musician's body was recovered during a massive search orchestrated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after he went missing during a duck hunting trip last weekend.

Strickland's body was found within the Bear Creek Cove near Kaw Lake in Tulsa, Okla., on Monday, authorities confirmed to Us Weekly. Strickland's family and his wife, Helen Strickland, have been notified of the discovery.

The 29-year-old musician embarked on a duck hunting trip near Kaw Lake over the previous weekend with his friend Chase Morland, the same weekend that a winter storm fell over the area, as previously reported by HNGN. Strickland was reported missing by his family after they had not heard from him for more than 24 hours. Morland, 22, was found dead on Sunday, Dec. 27 and authorities also found the pair's capsized boat the same night. Strickland's 9-year-old dog Sam was found alive the next evening.

Strickland's bandmates posted regular search updates to the group's Facebook page, asking for prayers for Helen and Strickland's family. Helen also posted updates of the search for her husband, and she thanked the search team in her most recent Instagram post.

"Several of the 4 State Search and Rescue team members and one of their outstanding pups, Wrigley," Helen wrote in the caption. "Such wonderful, hardworking, godly people. Our family has been incredibly blessed by your presence and the dedication of your furry friends. We cannot thank you enough for the hard work and tiresome volunteer hours you poured into the search for #craigstrickland. Your acts of kindness and generosity gave our family continued hope."
