Craig Strickland, the singer for the country rock band Backroad Anthem, was reported missing after his family had not had contact with him for more than 24 hours after a hunting trip over the weekend with friend Chase Morland, reported local paper Tulsa World. The search continues for Strickland, however, Morland was found dead near Kaw Lake in Oklahoma Monday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol and local officers recovered Morland's body after conducting a search Sunday night, according to Tulsa World. Local authorities said they also found Morland and Strickland's capsized boat.

Morland, a 22-year-old Van Buren, Ark., resident, last tweeted early Sunday about the duck hunting trip he was about to embark on with Strickland. Strickland, a 29-year-old resident of Springdale, Ark., re-tweeted his pal's message.

"In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm," read Morland's cryptic last tweet.

Winter weather advisories and warnings were issued for northern Oklahoma Saturday morning through the weekend, with rain, snow and ice falling the area of Kay County where Morland and Strickland traveled to for their hunting excursion.

Strickland's bandmates have been posting search updates on Backroad Anthem's Facebook page.

"The search has been called off for the night, bringing boat with sonar in morning," read a recent Facebook post. "A friend gave me these words! We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive. Hoping against the odds. We can't even stand to think about it. We are devastated. Only God & time can put us back together."
