A permanent mark was left on one member of One Direction last night after their appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden." The four members of the boy band all joined the host for Tattoo Roulette — a game that Corden said he instantly regretted playing.

The rules of Tattoo Roulette were simple: Corden, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson all had to pick one of five boxes. Four of the boxes had the word "safe" inside, while one had the dreaded word "tattoo." If a member of One Direction chose the box with "tattoo" written in it, he had to get "Late Late" inked on himself. If Corden chose the "tattoo" box, he would have to get a "1D" tattoo. In order to make sure no one flaked out, Corden had a tattoo artist standing by to ink the loser live on air.

Horan, the only member of One Direction without a tattoo, was up first. He was so nervous about the game that he was shaking before he went to choose his box. Styles and Tomlinson, who both admitted to some regrettable tattoos, seemed perfectly fine as they went up and grabbed the boxes they wanted.

"It's just going to be another stupid one," said Tomlinson.

After Payne and Corden picked their own boxes, one by one they opened the boxes to reveal their fate.

Lucky for Horan and Corden, they did not open their boxes to the word "tattoo." So who did? Check out the video below to find out if Styles, Payne or Tomlinson actually got inked live on "The Late Late Show."
