The Adelaide Test marks a new chapter in Test Cricket's 138 year-old history, according to wisden india. It will be the first day-night Test match, played with revolutionary pink ball.

Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon welcomed the new development in cricket's longest format, saying that balls tend to swing more under the lights.

"It usually swings with the new ball and also under lights it tends to swing a little bit more. I'm a big fan of bowling with the pink ball because they (batsmen) can't see the seam so it's going to be interesting times," Lyon said, according to tribune.

The home side took a lead of 1-0 in series after winning Brisbane Test. The second test, played at Perth, was drawn. New Zealand is now aiming to win the third Test in order to draw level the series.

"It's a big Test match for us. I know it's the first day-night Test but it's also the third one of the series and it's really important for us," New Zealand coach Mike Hesson said, according to espncricinfo.

"This is our eighth series since being defeated and that's something we hold pretty strong as a group so we'll be doing everything we can over the next five days to put Australia under pressure firstly and then hopefully force a result towards the back end," he added.
