Rockstar Games has been having some trouble with the launch of its first foray into the world of online multiplayer with "Grand Theft Auto: Online." The game puts up to 16 players on the map of the fictional city of Los Santos and gives them free reign to explore, play games, pull jobs or just plain kill each other.

The startup issues were so bad that the company is going to be issuing all those who tried to play the game in its first month's launch a rebate of $500,000 in-game currency as a sort of apology. In the wake of a rough startup, the game seems to be bouncing back and things are running a lot smoother for Rockstar Games. This means that it's time for the company to start looking into expanding the game.

The company has already confirmed a few features for GTA Online that have not yet rolled out with the original download. For example, the "Grand Theft Auto V" Story Mode was revolutionized with the development of heist missions. Those won't be exclusive to the story mode for long as Rockstar plans to roll out heist missions that you can do with your friends online sometime in the near future.

According to IGN, other developments coming to the game include a "Beach Bum Content Pack," which will include new cars and weapon. Similar to the Deathmatch matchmaking mode that currently exists in GTA Online, a new Capture the Flag style game will be pushed out soon as well. A fully-functioning stock market will be introduced as well as a Content Creator that will enable users to build and distribute their own online events - currently all of the games are designed and built by Rockstar.
