A "Star Wars" fan's last dying wish is to watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" early before cancer claims his life. The terminally ill fan hopes that Walt Disney Studios will allow him to watch the film before its Dec.18 release.

Daniel Fleetwood, 32, from Texas, was diagnosed with a connective tissue cancer called spindle cell carcinoma two years ago and in July, he was told by doctors that he had only two months to live, according to Entertainment Weekly.

On Monday, Fleetwood, who has been a fan of the "Star Wars" franchise since he was 8 years old, found that 90 percent of his lungs were covered with tumors. "Judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months, I really don't think that I'll be able to make it," he told Houston's KPRC-TV.

The hashtag #ForceForDaniel is being used on Twitter to draw attention to Fleetwood in the hopes that the dying fan's last wish is granted by the studio. "Star Wars" stars Mark Hamill and John Boyega have retweeted a post asking for help spreading the word about the Twitter campaign. Peter Mayhew also retweeted a message using the hashtag.

Fleetwood's wife has also set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to cover his medical bills, The page features photos of the dying fan in "Star Wars" attire, which includes a Yoda hat and a Darth Vader jacket, according to CNN.

J.J. Abrams, who helmed "The Force Awakens" granted a similar wish to a dying "Star Trek" fan in 2013. He arranged for the terminally ill fan to watch "Star Trek: Into Darkness" ahead of its release. The man died just days after watching the film.
