DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested at his New York residence Tuesday on a contempt of court charge after he allegedly failed to pay $10,000 in child support to his ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, for their four children, according to TMZ.

The arrest comes barely one month after the rapper was released from a New York jail following a two-month sentence for failure to pay $400,000 in unpaid child support to a different woman, as HNGN previously reported.

Simmons, 44, appeared in Westchester County Court Tuesday and begged the judge to not imprison him because he needed to perform "scheduled gigs" to make money.

"All I have is my name and my reputation," he said, adding that rapping at shows is the "only way I can make a living," according to TheWrap.

Judge Paul Marx agreed to release Simmons after the rapper pledged to appear at his next court date. "I expect to see you back here on Nov. 18 to resolve this case in its totality," Marx said. He told the rapper that if he doesn't show up, "things will not go well for you."

DMX, known for hits like "Party Up" and "Where the Hood At," has been arrested several times. He was famously arrested in 2004 for allegedly trying to steal a car at New York's Kennedy Airport and was cited in a criminal complaint earlier this year for his alleged involvement in a robbery at a Newark gas station.
