Not much has gone right for the Seattle Seahawks during the 2015 NFL season, but despite the current negativity surrounding the team, there has been every expectation that Pete Carroll would get his group back on track and the ship would be righted in short order. And while that still may very well be the case, fullback Derrick Coleman's Wednesday arrest for suspicion of hit and run and subsequent indefinite suspension by the team is just another negative in a season that has already had too many of them for the defending NFC champions.

Coleman, 24, is currently being held at King county Jail on suspicion of "vehicular assault and hit and run," according to Jennifer Sullivan of the Seattle Times. Per Sullivan, Coleman is suspected of crashing his truck into another car, getting out and walking away. There was "no indication" that Coleman was intoxicated, per Sullivan, which is small consolation at this point for Seattle's 12th man.

"On the evening of October 14, 2015, Seattle Seahawk Fullback Derrick Coleman, Jr. was involved in a two-car collision soon after leaving a team meeting," the statement reads. "While the facts of the case are still being determined, it seems Derrick may have fallen asleep while driving home from a Seahawks' facility. The health and well-being of all involved is our primary concern, and we are thankful to report that both parties are expected to make a full recovery. We will continue to work closely with the local officials while a full investigation is being conducted."

The Seahawks are out to a 2-3 start, one of their most ineffective in years, quarterback Russell Wilson is being sacked at an alarming rate and high-priced offseason trade acquisition, tight end Jimmy Graham, hasn't provided anywhere near the impact the team was likely hoping for when they added him at the outset of the latest league year. Strong safety Kam Chancellor's return from an early season holdout gave a big boost to the defense and that unit is performing well again, but they couldn't hold off a late rally from the Cincinnati Bengals this past weekend and suddenly the horizon looks mighty dark in Seattle.

While no determinations will are likely made on Coleman's future unless and until his current legal matters are dealt with, he certainly chose a poor time to add what seems to be fairly idiotic and unnecessary insult to injury.
