At the age of 23, Jennifer Lawrence already has an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award under her belt, though her road to success wasn't easy. The "Hunger Games" star recently revealed that producers called her "fat" and told her to lose weight to save her career, the Guardian reports.

In the November issue of the UK edition of Harper's Bazaar, Lawrence spoke out about her struggles in Hollywood where her body image was concerned.

"It was just the kind of s**t that actresses have to go through. Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn't lose a certain amount of weight," she told the magazine. "They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet. They thought that because of the way my career had gone, it wouldn't still hurt me."

Despite the criticism, the Oscar-winning actress didn't let it stop her from becoming one of Hollywood's hottest young stars, nor did she let the negativity impact the way she viewed herself.

"If anybody even tries to whisper the word 'diet', I'm like, 'You can go f*** yourself,'" Lawrence said.

The "Silver Linings Playbook" actress has been praised not only for her skills on-screen, but for her down-to-earth demeanor and lovably awkward personality as well. Lawrence insists that she's not putting on a show, and that her infamous fall while walking on-stage to receive her Oscar for "Best Actress" was merely an accident.

"'That was actually a moment when I really wanted it to be special," she insisted. "I'm not doing it on purpose. I'm uncomfortable and when people get uncomfortable they resort to their s***. I make awkward jokes and stutter."

Lawrence and her co-stars are currently filming the third installment in the "Hunger Games" film series. The highly anticipated second film in the franchise, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," hits theaters Nov. 22.
