With all of the varying reports coming out about the troubled star Amanda Bynes, her mother, Lynn Bynes, recently spoke to People magazine about her daughter's condition, warning people not to take everything in the media as truth, ABC News reports.

Lynn was granted legal control over her daughter recently, as Amanda is currently under the care of the state of California on an LPS hold. Lynn dropped her petition for conservatorship recently, as under the new hold, she and Amanda's doctors have more control over the actress than a conservatorship would allow.

"I would really like everyone out there to know that almost 99 percent of the things written about my daughter in various media outlets are false or misleading," Lynn, 66, told People magazine. "Unless it's a statement issued by our family attorney, Tamar Arminak, please take everything you read about Amanda with a grain of salt."

Since setting fire to a stranger's driveway on July 22, Amanda Bynes has been under psychiatric care, having most recently been moved from UCLA Medical Center to a Malibu rehab facility that specializes in mental health treatment. Although previous sources have claimed that Amanda could remain at The Canyons in Malibu for at least 90 days, her mother has made it clear that this report, among others coming out, may likely be false.

"Almost 99 percent of the things written about my daughter in various media outlets are false or misleading," Lynn told People in her official statement. "Please know that neither myself or other family members have ever released any information regarding her treatment or diagnosis."

Lynn also asked for privacy during this difficult time, though her wishes may go unnoticed as new inside sources continue to "leak" information about the 27-year-old actress, who shot to infamy over the past year for her bizarre behavior, Twitter rants and legal run-ins.
