An NFC area scout said that California quarterback Jared Goff will go before Michigan State's quarterback Connor Cook in the 2016 NFL Draft, according to Lance Zierlein of College Football 24/7.

Goff was already a highly-watched prospect coming into this season, but scouts are saying that he is playing even better this year, according to Zierlein. Goff has California undefeated through four games this season, and has gotten big wins against Texas and Washington. In four games, he has thrown for 1,240 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Goff is likely to be first round pick, and some think that he could land with the Chicago Bears if the pieces fall right. Others see Cook as the number one guy to go in the draft. In some mock drafts, they even have him going as the first pick to the Bears, according to walterfootball.com.

Cook has the Spartans undefeated through four games and has a big match against the Purdue Boilermakers Saturday. Cook has thrown for 838 yards this season with nine touchdowns. While both quarterbacks are at the top of the list, some believe that if Goff can perform down the stretch against dominant Pac-12 teams, he will likely be the top prospect, according to Zierlein.

Goff is a great pocket passer with a great release, and it's likely that he has had less talent to work with at California. The season is still early, but Goff seems to be slightly edging out Cook as the top quarterback for next year's NFL Draft.
