Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor has already kept himself out for all of Seattle's training camp thus far as he seeks an upgrade on his current deal. While there is likely some hope on the Seahawks part that time missed will eventually catch up to Chancellor and force him to return to the fold, even with a new deal, it seems that Chancellor won't be reappearing in the Seattle secondary anytime soon. ESPN's Josina Anderson reportedly spoke with Chancellor's agent, Alvin Keels, and was told that the status quo won't change unless and until Chancellor's current deal is addressed.

"Nothing has changed," Keels said, via Anderson. "He will not report without his contract being addressed this season. The team and I have been in contact, but we haven't been able to agree on any compromise."

Chancellor is currently under contract with the franchise for the next three seasons at annual cap hits of $5.65 million, $6.1 million and $8.125 million. Considering the amount of money the team is already spending on the other two top members of the Legion of Boom, cornerback Richard Sherman and safety Earl Thomas, and the guaranteed dollars they've already shelled out this offseason to the likes of quarterback Russell Wilson, running back Marshawn Lynch and linebacker Bobby Wagner, it makes ample sense that the organization and GM John Schneider would be reticent to re-work what is an ultimately team-friendly deal like Chancellor's.

A report from earlier this month suggested that while Schneider was willing to listen on a potential contract renegotiation, it was unlikely anything would get done that wasn't "highly favorable" for the Hawks.

Considering Chancellor's impact play from the strong safety position for Seattle over the past few seasons, there's almost no chance this will end up in anything other than him again donning a Seahawks uniform and laying the wood to NFC West receivers.

Still, it remains a situation to watch at the 2015 regular season inches ever closer.
