Prince Henry of Wales KCVO, commonly refered to as Prince Harry, will be coming to the United States in the fall to promote the Invictus Games, a worldwide sporting event for wounded, injured servicemen and women, according to The Associated Press.

The Kensington Palace confirmed in a statement that the 30-year-old prince will be visiting Washington, D.C, in late-October to attend events connected to the competition, which will be held in Orlando next spring.

The Invictus Games are an international Paralympic-type multi-sport event in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans take part in sporting events, including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and indoor rowing.

Prince Harry's travel schedule also includes later trips to South Africa and Lesotho between Nov. 26 and Dec. 4.

The prince is travelling to South Africa at the request of the Foreign Office, and while he's there he will represent the government of the United Kingdom.

"The visit will showcase the wide range of co-operation between our countries as well as offer an excellent platform to further develop the partnerships between the UK and South Africa and Lesotho," Judith Macgregor, British High Commissioner to South Africa, said.

The visit to Lesotho is in support of his Sentenale charity, where he will officially open their Mamohato Children's Centre, which provides emotional and psychological support to children suffering from HIV, according to BBC News.

Harry is currently in southern Africa undertaking a number of conservation projects, including protection of the black rhino from poachers. He is due to return to Britain in mid-September, People reported.
