Michelle Obama traveled across the Atlantic in search of a partner for her Let Girls Learn initiative and started with the British royal family.

Prince Harry hosted the First Lady along with her mother, Marian Robinson, and two daughters, Malia and Shasha, at the Kensington Palace in London on Tuesday, according to People. They small party sipped tea while Obama and the prince discussed the Let Girls Learn initiative to help more adolescent girls around the world complete their education and knock down the barriers that prevent them to do so now.

Following tea, Obama spent the day at the Mulberry School for Girls in Tower Hamlets in East London. The high achieving institution caters to students 11 to 18 years old, "where girls' talents and abilities are nurtured in a safe creative space," according to the school's website.

President Barack Obama's wife took questions from the girls and spoke about her own struggles growing up. She also talked about using social media in a more positive manner.

"Instead of tweeting what you had for lunch, why don't you tweet what you learned at school and share it with girls around the world," she said.

Michelle also sat down for a panel on developing a partnership between the U.S. and the U.K. to expand the Lets Girls Learn initiative as well as discussing her plan with British Prime Minister David Cameron.

The Obama family will travel next to Italy to meet U.S. armed services families based in Europe and to attend the Milan Expo to talk about healthier diets for children, according to The Telegraph.
