A rare video of Michael Jordan playing in a pickup basketball game at the University of North Carolina in 1986 is HNGN’s Throwback Thursday selection for July 23. The video was filmed while the basketball legend was rehabbing a broken foot. He sustained the injury during the a Bull's game against the Golden State Warriors, according to CBS Sports.

The spectacular footage was included in a 1989 documentary about the athlete titled, “Come Fly With Me.” But the Team Flight Brothers – a group that dubs themselves the best dunkers in the world-  recently released the movie project for the first time individually.

The Bulls preferred Jordan not play while injured, but they let him play on a limited basis for the group’s last 18 games of that season. Apparently they also let him return to his alma mater in Chapel Hill for some pickup ball.

The Bulls selected “Air Jordan” with the third pick in the 1984 NBA draft, according to NBA.comClick here for more HNGN Throwback Thursday selections and check out the "Come Fly With Me" documentary below.
