Small screen comic book properties gained a lot of credibility with the release of the first season of Netflix's "Daredevil" last month. The series received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics thanks to its gritty and grounded tone and superb action sequences. Unsurprisingly, fans are now eager for a second season.

That collective excitement should only increase with the most recent rumors making the rounds. It is believed that the iconic character Elektra will be added in the second season after videos of actresses reportedly reading for the part leaked online yesterday. Don't worry, though. Jennifer Garner wasn't one of them.

While Elektra wasn't specifically mentioned by name, it's easy to see her addition if you connect the dots. ComicBook is reporting that one of the scenes is between a woman and a thug that she has convinced to abandon his criminal operation because it had him "hurting innocent people because you're too lazy to get rich the hard way."  The site also reports that the female character is hiding her underworld activities from her partner. That would make sense as Elektra divides her time between Matt Murdock and her own vigilante endeavors. The second scene is allegedly between Elektra and Matt in one of their first meetings. It is unknown what the addition of Elektra, who is a love interest in the comics, would mean for Rosario Dawson's character Claire.

Actresses Louisa Migone and Shiva Kalaiselvan both read for the mystery part. Mignone is an Australian actress who appeared in "Wish You Were Here" and has a recurring role on the original version of "Rake." Kalaiselvan does not have any screen credits but has been involved in theater in Malaysia, London and New York City.

Season 2 of "Daredevil" is scheduled to debut in early 2016.
