Dairy Queen Celebrates 8th Annual DQ Miracle Treat Day; Buy Blizzard Treats to Donate Proceeds to Children’s Hospital

The Local Dairy Queen and Dairy Queen Grill & Chill restaurants will commemorate the eighth Annual Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day this coming Thursday, August 8.

On that same day, one dollar every Blizzard Treat bought will be given to one of the 170 hospitals maintained by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals), the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. The funds raised by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Hospitals will help save and improve the lives of the sick kids in member hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.

According to Rebecca Brinkley, coordinator of CMN Hopsitals and Children’s Hospital Foundation, “Dairy Queen contributed more than $4,000 to Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in 2012. We are thrilled to be working with more Dairy Queen partners for Miracle Treat Day this year. This is a great opportunity for the community to cool off with a frozen treat while also supporting our Children’s Hospital.”

More than $97 million has been raised by the Dairy Queen system through fundraising programs together with the Miracle Treat Day, the Miracle Balloon campaign, and other local initiatives, since 1984.

Oreo will be featured in the featured Miracle Treat Day “Blizzard Treat of the Day” which is still the most admired Blizzard Treat up to now. Trippleberry Brownie which is made with rich chocolate chunks, Orange Julius Tripleberry fruit puree, and chewy brownie pieces will be the Blizzard of the Month of August in the U.S. However, all other Flavors of Blizzards will also be on hand that day.

In 2005, the fame of the Blizzard brand is what led the Dairy Queen System to start the Blizzard Fan Club and in 2008, the Dairy Queen Facebook fan page. To date, the Fan Club has 3.4 million avid members while the Dairy Queen Facebook fan page has more than 5.7 million friends.
