Actor Daniel Craig reportedly flew to New York over the weekend for a minor surgical procedure to repair a knee injury he suffered while filming the next installment in the James Bond series, "Spectre."

"During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig has arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood," a spokesperson for the Sony production said.

Craig, 47, sprained his knee in early February while filming an action sequence at Pinewood studios in Buckinghamshire, UK. Fortunately, the injury did not force him to miss any shooting days.

Following the accident, former 007 actor Roger Moore jokingly offered to step in for Craig on Twitter.

Academy Award winning director Sam Mendes ("Skyfall," "American Beauty") will helm the 24th film in the Bond series. "Spectre" will hit theaters on November 6. In the movie, Bond receives a mysterious message from his past that leads him to an evil organization with some very important secrets.
