Celebrities took the stage, and took to Twitter, this weekend after George Zimmerman was found not guilty of all charges related to the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Beyoncé, who is currently performing as part of her "Mrs. Carter Show" world tour, was on stage at a stop in Nashville 30 minutes after the verdict was read, and dedicated a song to the late teen.

The megastar asked for a moment of silence for Martin, dimmed the lights and sang the chorus of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You." She followed it with her own tune, "Halo."

You can check out a video of the tribute below.

Beyonce's younger sister, Solange Knowles, also took action following the verdict.

According to Us Weekly, Knowles organized a successful peaceful protest in Brooklyn that was held the day after the trial concluded.

"We have to somehow turn this anger & pain into peaceful productivity. Our voices have to be heard & we have to do the work!!!" she tweeted, also asking for support. "Is this not what our ancestors, grandfathers and fathers fought for...?"

Tons of other stars also addressed the controversial verdict via social media.

Rapper Young Jeezy recorded and posted a song called "It's a Cold World [A Tribute To Trayvon Martin]" to his Facebook page saying, "I am in no way shape, form, or fashion trying to capitalize off of the latest series of events. These are my true feelings and my form of expression about it."

Stars from P. Diddy to Miley Cyrus also tweeted their reactions:

This high-profile case first made headlines, and turned heads, back in February when an altercation between Martin and Zimmerman ended in the Florida teen being shot to death. While Zimmerman was eventually found to be acting in self-defense, the case still opened up an often-tense conversation about racial profiling in America.
