A 16-year-old boy was arrested Sunday night during a Pink concert after tweeting about bringing a "bomb" to the show at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
"I'm ready with my Bomb.Time to blowup #RodLaverArena B*tch," the concertgoer tweeted as the songstress hit the stage, prompting a crowd search by arena staff.
The boy was reportedly identified by his Twitter profile picture, removed from the venue and arrested by local police. He was ultimately released and is awaiting charges. Monday he addressed the media saying the incident was a misunderstanding and was actually a reference to Pink's song "Timebomb," which appears as a bonus track on her latest album "The Truth About Love."
"It was meant to be about drop the effects, the music, everything-just drop it all," he said.
The boy's sister also came to his defense in an interview with Melbourne's The Herald Sun.
"He wrote it as in one of her songs is called 'Timebomb' and he forgot to put the 'Time' in there," she insisted. "We are a decent family and we don't have bombs and stuff like that," she added. "We're not terrorists and we don't want people to think that."
The tweet has since been deleted and Pink's Melbourne concerts will continue as usual.
The punk pop icon has enjoyed tons of success in Australia and the arena is set to host 18 Pink shows in July and August as part of her "Truth About Love" tour. The total sets a record for the longest run ever at the venue and beats her previous record of 17, which she set in 2009.
