Police have arrested a former Power Ranger star for fatally stabbing his roommate Saturday.

Ricardo Medina Jr. stabbed his roommate, Joshua Sutter, with a sword after a physical altercation broke out between them, TMZ reported. L.A. County Sheriff's deputies in Palmdale, Calif. said Sutter went into his bedroom with his girlfriend and locked the door, but Medina forced his way into the room and stabbed Sutter once in the abdomen.

Medina called the police and waited for them to arrive. They arrested him and booked him for murder. Sutter was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The sword was kept by the door, according to NBC Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. between the two 36-year-olds at the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road.

Medina is still in jail with bail set at $1 million, according to TMZ.

Medina played the Red Power Ranger on "Power Rangers Wild Force" in 2002 and also played Dekker on "Power Rangers Samurai."

No one responded to requests for comment from Saban Capital, which is owned by Haim Saban, NBC Los Angeles said. Saban bought back the rights to the Power Rangers franchise after selling the lucrative property in the 1990s.

The Power Rangers was criticized for on-screen violence when it debuted on U.S. television.
