Vanessa Lachey Slims Down Nine Months After Giving Birth, Credits Weight Loss To ‘Happiness’

Vanessa Lachey revealed to HuffPost Live that she gained 65 pounds during her pregnancy and nine months after giving birth to baby Camden she has shed the weight, the Daily Mail reports. During her streaming interview on the Huffington Post website, the 32-year-old TV host said she didn't go on any fad diets or do excessive amounts of exercise to slim down. She credits her weight loss to just "letting it happen" and happiness.

"I gained, I think, 65 pounds when I was pregnant," she told the HuffPost Live. "And I will say to moms out there, 'Don't stress about losing it, it will happen when it happens.'"

She added that it's all about maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle and "not obsessing over it." She said she thinks mothers should be more focused on spending time with their babies instead of the "get thin quick" scheme.

"I think that's the one thing I would like to convey to moms everywhere," she said. "It's not about this 'get skinny quick' diet or these fads. Just enjoy time being a mom. You've just has this wonderful, magical moment, and you shouldn't be stressing about that kind of stuff."

She joked with HuffPost Live saying that if a new mother is really worried about the weight loss she could always check out spanx adding that they are amazing and "thank you to the inventor of that."

She went on and talked about how great of a father her husband, Nick Lachey, is to their nine-month-old son Camden.

"He was born to be a daddy," she said. "He's a hot daddy. Isn't MILF the word for mom? Is there anything for dads?"

She told HuffPo Live that she and her husband are really enjoying being parents to baby Camden but definitely want more children down the line.

"We're married, and I believe we've established a great foundation as a couple and now as parents," she said. "So when two and three and maybe four roll around, we'll be ready for then."

The two began dating in 2006, a year after Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson ended their marriage, and got engaged in 2010.
