After a divorce, Vishal Thakkar elected to have a rhinoplasty done by Dr. Anfelo Cuzalina in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Cuzalina is reportedly the president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and a "well-established plastic surgeon."
After his first surgery, Thakkar claims he was forced to return to the surgeon for seven more surgeries to treat a slew of breathing troubles caused by the first surgery.
"There is no way I am going to live like this," Thakkar told Fox 23. "It is worse than being dead."
Thakkar clamis Dr. Cuzalina's procedures occurred without his consent.
According to Radar Online, the questionable surgeon reportedly took cartilage out of Thakkar's ear and placed it into his nose without his knowledge.
"I woke up with pain behind my ear and I said to the nurses, what part of 'under no circumstances, do not touch my ears do you now understand?'" he said.
Despite previous infections and procedures being done without his consent, Thakkar continued to work with the surgeon. For the final surgery, Thakkar alleges Dr. Cuzalina proceeded to operate and make decisions regarding the structure of his nose without his consent.
"He told me that there was an infection in there and since I was on the operating table and unconscious, he had to make the decision," Thakkar told Fox 23.
Thakkar is now suing the surgeon for an unspecified amount. The lawsuit claims after Thakkar expressed his concerns and disappointments towards Dr. Cuzalina, the doctor sent him a letter refusing to treat him because he claimed Thakkar was "medically unstable" and he would not tolerate the harassment.
According to Radar Online, the lawsuit also claims Thakkar was "emotionally harassed and over-prescribed" and filmed the patient without his knowledge.
